I’ve practiced digital illustration for years, mostly as a personal creative outlet. However, the children’s stories I’ve started writing recently feel naturally connected to this work - and have inspired me to storyboard illustrations and character designs.

I’d love to bring those two parts of my creativity, writing and illustration, together. Below you will find a scene I’ve illustrated from The Idea, the story I’m submitting, and the rest of the collection reflects the playful variety of illustration styles I’ve worked with over the years.

As an avid reader of picture books, I’ve got a keen eye for what styles of illustrations a) attract caregivers at the shop or library and b) will keep a young child engaged during the reading. I know I could use these skills to create visuals for my stories in a very marketable way, that still feels true to the concept and from the heart.
