Mariel Nelms Photography

Authentic photography for brands with purpose.

Mariel Nelms is a freelance commercial and editorial photographer creating custom, story-driven imagery for purpose-led brands across Canada. With a documentary-style approach and an eye for honest, thoughtful details, she helps businesses and organizations communicate their values, connect with their audience, and elevate their visual presence.

Available for on-location photography across British Columbia and special projects throughout Canada, Mariel Nelms specializes in: modern business portraits and creative headshots for professionals and teams; event photography for live gatherings, conferences, and brand activations; photography of community and public spaces for municipalities, developers, and placemaking initiatives; and editorial-style visual storytelling for publications, campaigns, and mission-driven brands.

Rooted in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Mariel collaborates with forward-thinking companies who value sustainability, storytelling, and human connection.

I respectfully acknowledge the land on which I work, live, learn & play is the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Katzie, Kwantlen and Semiahmoo First Nations.
